Yesterday saw the first National 2 East game of the season for the Vikings v Worthing. A very young Vikings team was fielded with debutants in double figures and eight under 21s in the team. The game ended with a 7-45 loss, with a clinical display from the visitors, although we saw lots of promising play that we can’t wait to see develop throughout the upcoming season.
Director of Rugby, Niall Lear, said after the game “It was a solid start to the season. We have a young, untested, team and they will learn many lessons from this encounter.”
The Warriors also played their 2nd pre-season friendly v Lowestoft & Yarmouth where they narrowly lost 24-26. An impressive come back from the Warriors nearly rescued a victory late on!
