North Walsham Vikings 52 Honourable Artillery Company 10
This was third against fourth but with a 25 point gap between them, and this the penultimate match of the season, the Vikings third place was already assured. It was 19 -10 at the break after a half when the hosts had looked out of sorts, but after half time they really turned on the style with 33 unanswered points. The Vikings eight tries were scored by Joe Milligan (2), Will Minchin (2), Roydon Miller, Lachlan Brown – Bates, Dan Smith and James Knight, six of them converted by Matt Hodgson. HAC’s team included former Viking David Treglown.

Romford & Gidea Park 15 North Walsham Vikings 12

The Vikings woeful away form continued: they didn’t post an away victory all season. In contrast they had a 100% home record until their final game the following week which they lost to champions Westcliff. The Romford match, in which the Vikings never led, was “scrappy, strewn with basic errors from both teams and virtually devoid of any flowing rugby.” Rhys Davies – Horne though produced a couple of magic moments, running 70 metres for a first half try and in the second creating the situation which led to a penalty try that James Knight converted.
