It’s On The Ball

It’s On The Ball is a registered charity based in Norwich, set up to provide support to patients and their families and raise awareness of testicular cancer.

Their aims are to raise awareness of Testicular Cancer, and support patients affected by the disease and their families. They achieve these aims by creating and distributing information leaflets, talking in schools, colleges and businesses, as well as attending various health and wellbeing events. They also provide a ‘buddy’ system for newly diagnosed patients and their families, supply a support pack to all patients undergoing treatment and offer financial support on a case-by-case basis.

Following a collection at the lunch, and around the ground, at the Esher game this March, a total of £1000 was raised by Vikings members and supporters for this very worthy cause. A cheque was handed over this Wednesday (22nd May) to chair of the trustees, John Overton, and chief executive Vince Wolverson by Peter Treglown from the club’s marketing and communications team.

John Overton, who attended the Esher lunch, commented: “We’d like to thank North Walsham for their generosity and for their warm welcome. A donation of the size goes a long way and we hope this is the start of a healthy relationship with the club. Testicular cancer is a disease that affects men at a very young age, usually between 15 and 35. We want to raise awareness of the disease amongst as many people as we can.”
